How do you light something like a sign, walkway or parking lot when no power is available?
One of the first thing that comes to mind is – Use solar! Solar is a good choice because solar doesn’t require the power grid. Although solar lights are common, they are expensive, unreliable and too complicated to use.
What is our solution?
Lighting Product TCP1020B is the solution to stand alone solar lighting. All users have to do is put the light where they want it, plug in a 10W or 15W solar panel and they’re done. Everything, except the solar panel is in one inexpensive, easy to use, integrated unit. End result is – It just works!
Existing solar lights are not as efficient as the TCP1020. The improvement in efficiency comes from MPP control of the solar panel and intelligent LED drive technology. This improved efficiency makes it much easier for the TCP1020 to get more energy through the day and use less energy at night. The TCP1020 also has very few parts due to its very high integration. All of the critical power control and logic functions are contained in the SSP1020 IC. This IC is a single chip solution which is also available for purchase separately.
The reason why existing lights are too complicated is because they’re not as highly integrated as the TCP1020. Traditional solar lights have a lot of parts. They have a solar panel controller, usually without MPP control, a day/night sensor, battery box, and lots of wires. The TCP1020 is a just a light, that’s all. Just plug in a solar panel and you’re done.

The TCP1020B is our first lighting product to use our revolutionary SSP1020 Solar Lighting IC. This new technology integrates a number of critical feature of Solar lighting into a single, easy to use IC, including Solar MPP Tracking Control, Battery charge, dusk-to-dawn operation using the solar panel as a sensor, and high efficiency LED drive.
The TCP1020B features a 50WH Lithium battery pack, a 220 Lumen LED emitter with about the same output as a 25W Halogen light, and automatic on/off control. A mounting plate is included. It couldn’t be simpler. Just mount the light, attach a solar panel, and you’re done. The TCP1020B is very simple, easy to use, reliable, efficient, and cost effective.

NEW PRODUCT: LED Lighting Dimming Controller – Title 24 Compliant

LED Lighting Dimming Controller (DIM-OC) –>DATASHEET
The Dimming Controller model DIM-OC is used to integrate motion control into existing LED lighting systems. The DIM-OC is powered from a 120V to 220V AC source and accepts an isolated output from a motion detector or photocell module. The input of the DIM-OC is not isolated. Consult SSP if an isolated input is required. When the input is pulled low the output changes state from 50% to 100%. The LED control output is fully isolated from the AC input.
BENEFITS:
The DIM-OC is an easy and inexpensive way to add Title 24 compliance (California and others) to add motion-sensing dimming control to any lighting pole. Commonly available LED drivers have a low voltage input of 0 to 10V for dimming. Commonly available motion detectors switch the “hot” side of the pole power supply when motion is detected. The DIM-OC is the perfect solution to bridge the high voltage output of the motion detector to the low voltage dimming input of the LED driver, while preserving the existing equipment used in the pole.

* Used with commonly available motion detectors with 120V-277V output, i.e. “Wattstopper”
* Supplies the dimming output for 100% brightess with motion, 50% brightess when no motion detected.

What Is A LED Driver?
A LED driver is a electrical device that regulates the power to a LED or string(s) of LEDs. What makes a driver different from conventional power supplies is that a LED driver responds to the ever-changing needs of the LED, or circuit of LEDs, by supplying a constant amount of power to the LED as its electrical properties change with temperature.
Think of a LED driver as ‘Cruise Control’ (like in a car) for the LED, and the temperature changes of the LED are the hills and valleys it is ‘driving’ over. The power level (or ‘Speed’) of the LED is maintained constant by the driver as the electrical properties change (amount of ‘gas’ or power needed) throughout the temperature increases and decreases (or ‘hills and valleys’) seen by the LED(s). Without the proper driver, the LED may become too hot (driving too fast) and become unstabe (out of control), causing poor performance (engine problems) or complete failure (crash!).
